A craft beer that became a craft single malt whisky that became a craft beer again…
Our signature Craft Works Distillery I AM… Whisky base started life as Zig Zag Brewery, Rams Head Stout recipe, minus the oats, that we tweaked over the years to become what is now our I AM.. wash bill.. We then took that recipe and turned it back into a craft beer. This is I AM… Beer.
I AM… Beer, is proudly 100% NSW grown barley, malted by the lads at Voyager Craft Malt at Whitton Malt House, in Whitton NSW.
The water is NSW bore spring water supplied by our good friends at Wild Wogan, Adrian & Co.
The mash bill recipe was created by Crafty and consists of three barley varieties, Latrobe, Planet & Schooner. And also includes Crafty’s Special Roast, the “special sauce” roasted malt exclusive to Craft Works Distillery.
The Yeasty goodness was co-pitched Saison & English ale yeasts, complimented by three hops: Dr Rudi’s, Fuggles & East Kent Goldings.
Gypsy milled, mashed, brewed and fermented by Crafty with our good mates at Gypsy Fox Brewing Co. Liam and Crafty got together at Gypsy Fox Brewing Co on the 30th May 2023 and created brewed magic.
Actually, Liam did most of the work and Crafty buggered off before the cleanup. Bloody Typical.
